Stefan Molyneux lives in Canada, and explains why he felt he had no choice but to fly to Oklahoma last week for medical care. Reason he felt forced to go to the U.S. for health care Pricing is listed on their website (seems I recall I posted this price list a long time ago as part of a discussion): Surgery Center of Oklahoma Price List |

I wish more healthcare providers would publish prices. Right now, the Surgery Center of Oklahoma is more an exception than the norm. |

Sorry, but I cannot take Stefan Molyneux seriously. He has quite a reputation as a publicity whore. If anyone's interested, he has his own website and Wiki entry. Google his name and peruse the links. A full of himself BeeEsser if there ever was one. |

Renauda, I like Stefan's videos, those that I have seen. I confess most are way too long, so I don't watch all. And, he's been on YouTube for a decade, so I have only seen somewhat recent ones (6 months). He does provide food for thought, at least for me. Just because I enjoy his presentations, does not require my agreement with everything he says. If I agreed with everything, there would not be much point in watching/listening, would there? How many have you watched? Any favorites, or any specific ones that you could suggest as an example of him being a publicity whore? Or examples of which videos, where you were convinced to "not take him seriously?" |

I have watched none other than the one you posted. He has however been on the radio, TV and appeared some the print media in this country. I don't like his presentation style and I don't like his libertarian political views. I am glad he had the pocket money to seek treatment in Oklahoma. It is his right to spend his money how he wishes. His personal experience with the provincial health care of his residence - the system varies from province to province so it is incorrect to refer to health care delivery as "Canadian" - has not been my experience where I live nor anyone else's who I know. I am sure however he is a model patient and the medical professionals here did everything in their power and competence to accommodate his immediate needs and demands. That will have to suffice for an answer. |

Thanks Renauda, In the comments, there are many posts from people in Canada that offered their own very positive experiences with Canadian health care. Interesting there were also a few comments about how great the Japanese health care system works. I certainly don't know anything re Japanese health care costs/efficiency. One thing I admire about Molyneux, is his ability to organize his thoughts and speak quickly. That has nothing to do with substance, just my admiration for someone "quick on his feet" in terms of speaking/debating style. As I recall, he started out -- after being a successful tech entrepreneur -- with a movement to stop parents from spanking their kids, as well as any physical violence towards children. Some of his videos are, well, thought provoking at best, kind of strange at the least. For example, his tirade when Robbin Williams committed suicide. He maintained that the laws in California are so punitive, the payments to the ex-wife based on her and their children "living in a manner in which they were accustomed" lead many (actors/atheletes/rich) to despair. (note to self: don't get divorced in California...) Which (according to Molyneux), is why so many actors work until they drop from old age, they can't afford the payments while living modestly, and realize they will never get out of handing over pretty much all of their $$$. Anyway, back on topic. Like I said, for me he spikes my curiosity on a variety of subjects. And, he's entertaining. |

I googled private MRI clinics in Ontario. The fellow could've purchased a private MRI in Ontario and had his procedure as quick as he did in Oklahoma. He would've discovered the doctors to be just as friendly and wonderful too. |
