We are a long, long way from driverless cars. I hope. |

Hmmm - 36000 people die in the US because of auto crashes every year. 26000 in Thailand. 6000 in Korea. Over 1,000,000 per year worldwide. And they are driver cars. Of course, the amount of miles driven by driverless cars is so small, it is difficult to draw a conclusion. But, I see a lot of driver cars that are driven very, very, very, poorly. I am of the side that driverless cars will help this situation. I think they are good idea, not only for safety, but also for elder people. One of the most difficult things for an elder person to give up is their ability to get around. Driverless cars will be a big help in this area. Edited by taiwan_girl, Sep 15 2016, 10:33 AM.

Driverless cars can only be truly viable with every car carrying a GPS locator, and a satellite system 10 times the size we have today. |
| The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it. | |

The solution is simple: stop giving driver's licenses to people who can't drive. Spend the money necessary to set up a driverless system on more public transportation. Just get the bad drivers and old people who shouldn't be driving in the first place off the roads. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

If I could easily catch either a train or a bus to work, I'd do it. It's only 10 miles, but I've got no choice but to drive, which forces me to buy a second car we don't really need for anything else. There's a disused railway station within walking distance of my house. Not much bloody use when the train doesn't stop there any more. |

As you folks in England learned a bit sooner than us, old railways make ideal cycle paths. Matter of fact, many of them in England allow for more daily transportation by bike than what the rail provided by train. |
| I cite irreconcilable differences. | |

Bike paths rock. Once I git used to them I pretty much quit road riding, since I was pretty Have an 80 mile one just a mile from me. Also great for walking along the Little Miami River. |

I regularly use autopilots. And they flak out regularly, to the point where you have to shut it off so it doesn't wreck the plane. The autopilots that are common in training airplanes are more than willing to wreck the plane. But I'm sure Tesla’s Autopilot is nothing like that, they have probably thought of everything. |
