Junker talks about the dangers of nationalism and populism. IMHO he needs to worry more about continental European nationalism and populism than the British variety, which always tends to be a more benign strain than that exhibited in some of the more excitable European countries.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Junker is a dangerous idiot.

His quote "When it becomes serious, you have to lie" sums him up quite well.

maybe he was paraphrasing churchill

"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies."

The caliphate will eventually provide a "permanent structure".
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
