Sometimes I just don't get it.

Apple released the iPhone 7 this week, and there is a new color they call "jet black", I believe. It looks like an gloss ebony piano finish. Very nice looking.

I read somewhere that the finish is prone to scratching, and Apple recommends using a case to prevent that.

What?

You make a beautiful black sexy finish and then you tell me to cover it up? What is this, lingerie?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

The case is to prevent injury from the explosion.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

HOLY CARP!!!
It's never a good idea to have your smartphone out of a case as cool as they look naked. My phones always have an Otterbox. Well worth the $50 investment.

There doesn't seem to be much difference between the 7 and the 6 it's supposed to replace, other than a fancier camera on the most expensive version of the 7.

I'm sure they'll fly off the shelves but I can't see any reason to upgrade.

I've read theories they purposely made this one a minor upgrade and are prepping for a majorly updated iPhone 8 next year for their 10th anniversary.

I'll be upgrading as I have a 4S that turns 5 years old next month. Never had a case, for five years, and it's fine.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

There are a lot of minor but often-asked-for upgrades. It's nothing earth-shattering, but it's not all frivolous either.

I'll be looking at what they're doing with the new MacBooks, personally.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Much faster processor.

Water resistance.

Faster LTE.

Smarter energy management (more battery life)

Increased storage at no increase in price (though I wish they'd add a card slot).

I'm considering going to the smaller iPhone SE rather than upgrading to the iPhone 7, though the iPhone 7's support for 450 Mbps LTE is giving me pause as the SE only supports 150 Mbps LTE. (iPhone 6 supports 300 Mbps LTE.) I'm willing to sacrifice many fancy stuff for a smaller, lighter devices, but good radio reception is pretty high up on my priority list.

Interesting piece about where the camera technology is headed and where it is now.

The iPhone 7 changed the camera industry forever
