his logic seems to be that before the insults he said something that wasn't an insult, therefore he didn't insult them.
With all due respect.... :lol2:

Note to all those who justified their objection to Trump because they thought he couldn't be presidential, wasn't capable of being civil, only knew how to be rude and obnoxious, and all the other reasons given for why he was "unfit for the office of president"...

While Hillary was telling people that half the American people were "a basket of deplorables"...

Trump was receiving a standing ovation for his words at Phyllis Schlafly's funeral.

If I ever left the impression that I have no biases, either I mis-wrote, or someone mis-read.

I have plenty of biases. I'm sure everyone does. I'm not sure it's even possible to be without them.

Let me spell it out for you, Cats - the main stream media didn't show any pictures of it because they don't want anyone to know that at a black convention where Hillary was the keynote speaker - hardly anyone attended. So they *tell* you people attended, which isn't a lie, it just masks the fact that the attendance was pitiful.

The pictures tell the story. If you can't figure it out with pictures, I don't know what to tell you.
Well, you're right about one thing: the pictures do tell the story. Brian Abel and Frank Morris really are real reporters. Abel tweeted that the convention hall was cut down in size to accommodate a crowd of 3,000 in a hall that was built to hold 5,000. That makes an attendance of "thousands" closer to accurate than . . . what were your words on the attendance? "Pitiful". "Hardly anyone".

Some websites claimed 'less than a thousand' attended. I couldn't find a specific number of how many actually attended.

The pix I saw, you couldn't get a sense of the size of the crowd during the speech.

A pub called the Washington Free Beacon, which describes itself as "dedicated to uncovering the stories that the powers that be hope will never see the light of day" -- yes, one of those -- reported that "Clinton's keynote address . . . failed to draw a crowd of the size that organizers and Clinton's campaign expected, so they partitioned the room to hide thousands of empty seats." It added tweets from Brian Abel that "event organizers shut off the lights in a large portion of the unoccupied room and then partitioned it off from where attendees were sitting."

As far as I can tell, that's it. That's the whole story. Fewer than expected attended Clinton's speech, period. The hall was built to accommodate 5,000 and they used partitions to reduce the size to accommodate 3,000. Period.

Fewer than expected, Larry. Which faction, do you suppose, managed to turn a "fewer than expected" audience of 1,000-3,000 people into "pitiful" and "embarrassing" and "hardly anyone"? Would these be Hillary supporters? No, I don't think so. I think it's more likely they would be anti-Hillary people, don't you?

The Kansas City Star covered highlights from the speech, and mentioned briefly in the middle that turnout was less than expected and that partitions were used to reduce the size of the hall. Same with KMBC-TV News. Fox-KC made no mention of crowd size. Neither did World Net Daily

C-SPAN made no mention of crowd size. You have no problem, I trust, with C-SPAN's objectivity, do you?

Redstate, Infowars, Breitbart, Reddit ( :leftarrow: page plastered with Trump ads) used descriptors like "embarrassing", "abysmal", "cringeworthy". Something called Twitchy cobbled a wannabe pun, 'Hillaryous'. Hannity -- well, you don't need me to tell you what Hannity said, do you? Teaparty.org's headline: "Nobody Shows Up to See Hillary".

And so on. I stopped searching at page 5 of the Google layout.

This ominous detail of the movable partitions refers to an architectural practice that has been used commonly for several decades. It has to do with improving acoustics and reducing energy use (heating, cooling) and so on. It has nothing to do with hiding seats.

Let me get this straight. Your whole point is that the MSM "doesn't want anyone to know" about the attendance so they showed no pictures. Yet you're fine with one picture, plus two or three variants, so long as that one picture comports with what you want to believe, anyway. Then it's all kinds of legitimate.

This story isn't about Clinton's audience size. It's about misrepresentation. Or as we unclued masses like to call it, lying. The Internet being a big place, this is very easy to do. You can say down is up and you'll find somebody to believe you. You could almost say it's a law: The more determined you are to believe something, the less proof you need to believe it. Eventually, any old bull**** will do it for you.

But hey, I love when you spell **** out for me. Please, keep it up. It's fun to watch ideologues trying so earnestly to force the round pegs of reality into the square holes of what they need to believe. It's like watching 20 clowns pouring out of a Volkswagen. You know it's impossible, but they're awfully entertaining.

FWIW, Cats, I found the same type of information (varying estimates of the crowd size and even the size of the hall). I like to look at local coverage to get more first-hand info. From the Kansas City Star:

Quote:

Clinton told roughly 4,000 delegates to the National Baptist Convention USA meeting at Bartle Hall in Kansas City.

Plus this from the local Fox News affiliate:

Quote:

An announcement about the speech being open to the public came just hours before Clinton was set to take the stage. Many people at the convention also reportedly had prior commitments. Perhaps explaining why after the speech was already to have started, staff partitioned off the half empty hall to hide thousands of empty seats.

Oh, and lest anyone say they are making excuses after the fact, here's a report from the same outlet *before* the speech:

Quote:

The race for president stops in Kansas City Thursday as Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton plans to speak downtown during the National Baptist Convention.

Clinton's speech is not open to the public, but the thousands of people attending the convention will get a chance to learn more about her plans for America as she tries to gain the support of the African-American community.

Ah... so when it became obvious the thousands of blacks already at the convention wouldn't be there for hillary's speech, they decided to invite the public in to spike the room....and even that failed to fill the place.

I've never heard of a private convention throwing the doors open to the public like that.. talk about desperation......

Thanks, JG. Gold star for you. I didn't know the speech wasn't open to the public, but changing that status hours before the speech would surely have caused some confusion.

And probably annoyance with Hillary, which is all to the good. :)

It really doesn't matter which news organization one turns to in an attempt to spin this to make it something it wasn't - national news, local news, it doesn't matter.

The fact remains that blacks are a YUGE democrat voter block, one that a democrat normally can always count on, Hillary went there to speak because that for the first time since LBJ, that voter block seems to not be staying on the plantation like the democrats had them trained to do and she sensed a need to go there to shore up the black vote by speaking in her "black voice"...

and they didn't show up like they thought they would....

Hey Larry ... you know who else also consistently had much, much larger crowd sizes than Hillary?

Yeah, that's right, Bernie Sanders.
Electorally speaking, Trump is going the way of Sanders. :D

Again, a very strong case for Hillary for those who, like Aqua, like her running mate Tim Kaine much better than they like Hillary. :thumb:
