Yes, there is something dedicated about that. Different from crazy-explosive.

The story said it might have been an accident, I hope it was.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Yes, but look how quickly we jumped. No cop will be able to hurt himself from now on without everyone assuming it was an assault from forces of evil.

We can sure try not to jump so quickly, alarmist news reporting notwithstanding. :)

Bit of an update:

Just before noon Tuesday, Columbus police tweeted there is no reason to believe the incident was intentional.

FYI on officer injured by glass in sandwich: At this point in the investigation there is no reason to believe it was intentional. #CPD

The case remains under investigation.

Boston police issue warning to officers after vehicle tampered with

BOSTON
- Boston police have issued an internal warning to police officers after an officer’s personal car was tampered with.

The tire is missing from the personal vehicle after it came off when the officer drove away from station A-1 downtown on Friday.

Police told FOX25 the tow truck driver and a mechanic who inspected the vehicle agree that the lack of damage to the lug nuts indicated they were tampered with.

The officer normally parks his vehicle behind area A-1, but police said it is unclear if the lug nuts were loosened there or at another location.

Police have issued this warning as a safety and awareness alert due to an increase in anti-law enforcement sentiment across the country.

Last Friday evening, a group of local law enforcement officers gathered quietly for a vigil, praying for comfort and healing for the families of five police officers slain in Dallas. Police Chief Nate King read from Scripture and encouraged officers and the public to lean on their faith to get them through these difficult times.

It was a spur-of-the-moment, low-key event - not designed as a ploy for the spotlight, but as a show of solidarity and empathy, and an assurance to members of the law enforcement community that the public appreciates and respects them.

By now, Dallas police have determined a lone sniper was responsible for most of the carnage - a man likely not even connected to the peaceful Black Lives Matter protest to which officers had been dispatched for crowd control and protection. But just as the psychopath who snuffed out 49 lives in an Orlando night club co-opted the evil ISIS movement to do his deed, the Dallas shooter used as an excuse the public outcry against those police officers whose fearful, hair-trigger reactions have ended the lives of several black men.

Sadly, the public is squaring off on social media and elsewhere, taking sides when none need to be taken. Some have adopted the position of "you're either for us or against us," promoting the alarming notion that if one supports the police, one cannot also be troubled by the high-profile and senseless killing of black men. Or, conversely, if one objects to these killings and calls for action to prevent others like them, then one must hate all cops.

Both attitudes are narrow-minded, grossly unfair, and do nothing to help ameliorate the situation - although in light of the current political climate, it's hardly surprising.
Let us begin anew, remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness.

What kind of an imbecile sees a black and white "connected to the peaceful protest" thing?

Were people subjected to psychological evaluations and given a stamp of approval by a team of mental health professionals before being allowed to hoist a sign at the protest?

Connected? We're all swimming in the waters and we're all connected.

Certain social ideas are encouraging of violence. We can pretend that's not the case. Reality will remain unchanged.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?
