The firearm used by the shooter in Dallas has been identified as many different weapons by the news media, most who wouldn't even know which end of the weapon the bullet exits. It's been named as an AR-15, a SKS and an AK-47. If the current picture circulating on the net is correct (source: NBC News), the weapon is an AK-74. The typical round for an AK-74 is the 5.45x39. |

1. The Saiga - which is what it looks like - is a Russian weapon that can no longer be imported into the U.S. 2. Much is being made of "armor piercing" bullets. Any small caliber spitzer round at high velocity will defeat Level III body armor. You can drive a piece of straw through a tree, given enough velocity. |
