I'm not talking about the prayers, I'm asking about peace... At what price? We could have peace tomorrow, just pick up your hijab and Koran down at the local Mosque.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

I don't know. I pray for guidance. Sadly my faith is so tested I don't believe in prayers. I do though believe "good" trumps "evil". How that works, I don't know

A terrible tragedy. Terrorist attacks seem to be happening like clockwork in France. But I expect the French to pick up and carry on.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

I have some cousins vacationing in the south of France. So my heart skipped a beat when I heard the news. But thankfully all ok.

I've been wondering "why France"? It's so terrible. So horrific? Does the enemy (whoever they are) find France soft? Do the first two World Wars come into question? I don't know. I'm just posing a question.

I cannot tell ou how sad I am.

For me, all I can think of are the families being thrust into a spotlight they never thought they'd encounter. It's how I felt about Orlando. I can't help it.

There must be an answer and solution. As I've said. My faith is almost nil and hanging by a thread. So when faith is nil, where's the answer?

Stop being sad and start getting mad. And ready.

Read. Learn. Educate. Get a book called Defeating ISIS by Malcolm Nance. It's encyclopedic, not the kind of book you read from page 1 to the end, unless you want to. But it's comprehensive, and will give you an excellent idea of what the world is up against. These monsters defy belief.

As for why France, the ISIS has a special hatred for the French -- which is going some -- but I don't know why. IIRC, they call them 'the traitorous French'.

With all due respect, Cats, I have enough anger in my life. I'm more into empathy at this point. If I turn to anger, "evil" will triumph and I just can't afford that for me or my family.

Obviously, this is a terrible tragedy.

But at this point I think it's pretty obvious that those who tried to argue that the reason the muslims were attacking is because of the US invading their countries were absolutely, totally, 100% incorrect.

It is time to declare this a world war, and every nation on the planet is going to have to choose sides.

France has more Muslims than any other country in Western Europe. And France has had a long and unhappy history with Muslim countries in North Africa, particularly Algeria.

It's part of the muslim play book - once the muslim population reaches a certain percentage, they start this phase of the takeover.

Watching a CNN panel discussion about the French tragedy (why do I do this to myself?), and slowly but inexorably the discussion turned into a bashing of Republicans and Trump. The one Republican on the panel was flabbergasted, and I don't blame him. I kept expecting someone to say: "It's Bush's fault".

But Candidate Clinton believes the appropriate response is to "gather more intelligence" on terrorist groups. Oh? Pray, Ms. Clinton, what part of terrorist activity remains obscure to you???

Not everyone wants to go to war right now, so what do you expect her to say?
I cite irreconcilable differences.
