Drove the Acura MDX AWD, Cadillax SRX-4 and Lincoln MKX. Did not much care for the Acura. Aside from the truckish ride and sloppy steering there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, but there wasn't much of anything particularly right or inspiring. Too bad because I normally love Honda products. The Lincoln was a nightmare. Horribly uncomfortable and underequipped. I drove it two blocks before turning around and telling the salesman it wasn't going to work. If that is the best they can do they will not last. Ah, but the Cadillac SRX-4. Very nice ride, very comfortable, good handling. A little underpowered but I may be able to cope. We will see. Plus it was black with black leather which is what I want. Went to the Lexus dealership and was passed by by two different salespeople. AMF. |

Ah, you stood outside. The sales guys were probably drinking coffee and didn't see you. In my case, I went indoors. Then did the same thing, for about 10 minutes. AMF. |

Surprised when I looked up AMF in the Urban Dictionary and found the following:
 Fairly disturbing given the history of that phrase. Of course, I don't think that is what you meant, but it shows the risks of these abbreviations. I'll be curious to see what your search leads to. I've been thinking about buying a new vehicle this year myself. Big Al |

The better dressed you are, the more eager sales people are to wait on you. That’s what I’ve noticed. But I don’t think anyone should have to get dressed up just to get a sales person’s attention. Go to another dealer if they ignore you. Go to an auto show in a big city located near you. You’ll be able to see all the car makes and models under one roof without any sales pressure. You can’t test drive them but you can sit in them. The auto show in my city starts this Saturday. You live in Cincinnati, OH, right? If so, yours is Feb 17-21. Here’s the link: http://cincinnatiautoexpo.com/ The automotive model year is now about half way over assuming a starting month of September. Now it’s a little late for car shows if you ask me. Auto shows should be in the fall when the new car model year starts not in late winter. |
