Not liking a type of music doesn't make it not music. Yes, all music is music. But calling something music doesn't make it music, and if it's not music, it's not music. Music: "an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color." Growling is not rhythmic, nor is it melodic, nor does it have harmony, nor does it have color. It is not expressed in time, it conveys no ideas or emotions, in significant forms or in insignificant forms. it is a logical evolutionary step backward one should not be surprised at getting when people with no talent, no skills, no training, and no taste attempt to emulate those who do have these abilities. But it is not music.

Probably some before them. But I don't think it's about the music as much as it's about the affect. They want to "terrorize" people. With respect.

I can't take that kind of stuff seriously, but I do like some metal. Mot�rhead songs are, 'cording to the lead singer, just fun rebellious sex-drugs-rock-n-roll type stuff. They never took themselves too seriously, which I appreciated.
