In presidential primaries, endorsements have been among the best predictors of which candidates will succeed and which will fail. So we’re keeping track.

Are endorsements really that important?

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I think they are quite important. If people you trust or like endorse a certain candidate that says a lot about them, given that they appear to know the candidate. Paints an interesting picture.

It depends so much on the psychology of the endorser's followers that there's nothing you can extrapolate from it.

Endorsements can help a lesser known candidate if the endorsers carry enough clout. I realize that you folks are probably only referring to the current US presidential campaign, but I am also thinking of various state races over the years.

I thought George was talking about endorsements by other politicians.

Could I vote for someone who is not endorsed by Sarah Palin?

Wow, tough call.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
