Nice
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

About 30 miles out of the twin cities. Might be worth a drive if you live there.

$4?

Who has first run movies for a ticket price of $4? Not matinee, but evening shows?

And according to the source I got the link from, their concessions are similarly priced...Two tickets, two cokes, two popcorns...Less than $20.

A far drive for us, but if we are in the area it would be a fun and cheap night out. We have a couple cheap theaters much closer ( 40 minutes for one, and an hour for the other) and we call those our cheap date options. Even found a great restaurant that offers a burger special for $6 M-TH. Hit the burger special, run an errand or two, head for the cheap theater. That's a full afternoon to evening outing for few bucks.

So tell us about your cheap dates, and I'm not talking about anyone's sister. :)

There's a bbq joint not too far from the house that runs a Thursday night special. It changes up a bit, but often is 1/4 chicken, 2 sides and a drink for $7. That and a late matinee before dinner is our usual cheap movie night out.

Mmmmmmm, pie!
There was a movie theater in Atlanta that I used to love going to. Instead of rows of seats, the floor was laid out in flat tiers about 12' deep, each tier in front being a couple of feet lower than the one behind it, and on each tier were dining tables. They had a nice menu selection, and before the movie started a waitress would take your order, bring you your food, and you could sit and eat at a table while you watched the movie.

Not very expensive, either. The best I remember, it was 6 bucks for a ticket, and you could buy a very good burger with fries and a drink for about 7 or 8 bucks. You could even buy a ribeye steak if you wanted, with baked potato and a salad.

That's similar to the cheap theater we like that's an hour away.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
We have a new movie and dinner place that just opened, but you sit in a leather loveseat that has folding trays to eat from. In other words it is just like eating on a plane. Thank you, no.

Yeah, but the food is marginally better.

Marginally. Screen is bigger too, but still.
