My wife...

One of the things I really resent about my wife is her ability to sleep. She can get up in the middle of the night, go to the kitchen for a drink, or a snack, come back to bed and snooze for several hours. Me? Not so much. Once up, I'm up for the day, which I find particularly frustrating at 6, when the dog has to go out in these frigid temps.

When I was working full time, the routine was for me to get up at about 5, shower and get dressed. Then, about 5:30 or so, I'd take the dog out, give him his AM arthritis meds, check email etc before leaving for work.

For the last month or so, however, Mrs. K has been taking the dog out for his AM walk. She gets dressed, walks the dog, comes back in and goes to bed, to sleep for another couple of hours.

I am grateful.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Well, now that the dog's been out, I've had my first cup of coffee, time to get out of my 'jammies and get dressed.

Retirement is a tough gig.

The trick is to not let it drive you bat-$hit-crazy.

Wanna road trip to Florida to kick some a$$? I'll bring beer and scotch.

I have the same problem George. If I have to pee in the middle of the night I keep one eye closed and barely open the other one, willing myself not to fully "wake up".
