Especially don't leave it on for a real long time. If you do, and you chip it off (after soaking it in Goo Gone or one of those super-removers) and the residue stays behind, you will be in Masking Tape Residue Hell. Solutions abound on the Internetz. This is the most successful one I've found. Read this carefully and never forget it. Soak the residue in rubbing alcohol. Use fabric; paper towels probably will shred into nothing. Go away, then come back and do it again. The third time, rub very hard with your cloth. This will get some of it. Then scrub hard with sudsy Brillo pads to remove the rest. Use fingernails for iddy-biddy dots of stubborn goo. Then wipe it all down. Forgot: Someone also recommended bar and tar remover. I'll be trying that next. |
