If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

There was no flag on this. What say you? 50 lowers his head and goes directly in. |

At the time it happened I thought for sure there would be a flag. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

It's spearing and also head-to-head. 15 yards for unnecessary roughness. In college, that hit would get you thrown out of the game for 2 quarters. |

Then they flag Burfict in the last few seconds because his shoulder pad brushed Brown's helmet? Please. |

ESPN made a lot of noise about that this morning. The game's over. |

Yeah. Then there is this, that the Steelers coach that Jones supposedly fouled was committing a foul by being on the field to begin with: http://www.sbnation.com/2016/1/10/10743904/steelers-bengals-joey-porter-foul Everybody was out of control in this game - players, coaches, refs and fans. What a mess. |

Are you serious? If you or I got "brushed" like that, we'd be dead. Brown goes down like a rag doll. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25444243/this-is-why-ryan-shazier-wasnt-flagged-for-head-shot-to-gio-bernard I'll trust two former NFL Heads of Officiating on this. In addition to Pereira, the other former official on the CBS broadcast called it legal as well. If they are correct, then it really should have been a Steelers TD. |

I believe that would be a penalty by the rules. |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

Not a defenseless receiver at that point he is a runner. At any rate, it was that hit that woke the Bengals up. If you're going to blame a supposed missed penalty (and there are plenty every game on both sides), don't choose that one. That play resulted in Burfect getting riled up, laying the smack down on Ben (I remarked to my friend as soon as Pittsburgh took the field after that play to not let Ben throw for the next series or two because Burfect will be headhunting. Two plays later Ben is on a cart having beer and water bottles thrown at him.), and the offense came to life. If that hit doesn't happen, the game pretty much continues as it was played. Ultimately, the play that cost the Bengals was the fumble. |

But if we do want to look at missed penalties there is the matter of Burfect rolling around on the ground on top of Ben for 2-3 seconds after the tackle then jamming his knee into his shoulder.

Here's a foot stomp attempt that resulted in the Steeler being flagged:
