You are living in the past. It just ain't that country anymore. It hasn't been for eight years if not more. You are just living to far in the hills to notice.

It has nothing to do with living in the past, or living in the hills. So perhaps the problem is more Polish in nature....

You are of course correct--it has nothing to do with living in the hills, what I meant to say, rather awkwardly is that you live in a different country than you believe you do. Nothing personal intended.

No Tom, I know exactly what kind of country I live in, and what's going on in it.

I also know how to tell the difference between breaking the law and defending ones' property. There seems to be a lot of things I know that you don't know, Tom.

What will happen, will happen, of course.
I've wondered about the million plus migrants that were welcomed by Germany.
Majority are young males, and Muslim.

Now, Muslim's don't drink. Well OK, they do, but overall, not.

Take hundreds of thousands of young men, mostly uneducated or comparatively under-educated. Place them in western civilization, with no 'Ol Man standing behind with a big stick of "how to behave."
Add alcohol.

My point may seem silly, but I am expecting in the near future a riot, or riots. Whether in Calais, Cologne, Malmo (Sweden), Dresden, etc., if you mix young desperate males with alcohol, all hell will break loose.

Or not. I could be completely wrong. Maybe give them Safe Rooms and a huggy pillow, and in a few years, they will assimilate with ease.

Some updates:

Cologne's woman mayor says women should have a "code of conduct."

Quote:

Women looking for reassurance from the authorities, therefore, were shocked when Henriette Reker, the mayor of Cologne and a survivor of a far-Right assassination attempt, said that German women should behave according to a certain ‘code of conduct’.

She made a public announcement advising women to travel in groups and stay at “arm’s length” from men they did not know to avoid such attacks happening to them.

'This means they should go out and have fun, but they need to be better prepared, especially with the Cologne carnival coming up.

'For this, we will publish online guidelines that these young women can read through to prepare themselves,” she said.

Nothing to see, move along.

Today it emerged identical sex gangs are operating in neighbouring Austria, while more than 150 woman across five German cities have reported attacks.

And in Switzerland, six women reported identical crimes in Zurich on New Year's Eve, while Finnish police intercepted information suggesting similar attacks were planned.

And some of the men claimed to be Syrian refugees.

Ministers have said there is no evidence asylum seekers were involved in the violence.
But the leaked police report, published in Bild newspaper and Spiegel, a news magazine, claims that one of those involved told officers: “I am Syrian. You have to treat me kindly. Mrs Merkel invited me.”

Another tore up his residence permit before the eyes of police, and told them: “You can’t do anything to me, I can get a new one tomorrow.”

A local newspaper reported that fifteen asylum-seekers from Syria and Afghanistan were briefly held by police on New Year's Eve in connection with the sex attacks but were released.
The Express newspaper quoted an unnamed police officer who said his squad had detained several people who had "only been in Germany for a few weeks".

"Of these people, 14 were from Syria and one was from Afghanistan. That's the truth. Although it hurts," he said.

Thank you for posting this, George. People need to know.

I cannot believe this is happening, but it is. I cannot believe that women are being told to keep an arms length away, especially given the high usage of public transportation in these places.

And more news:

City authorities identified at least some of the perpetrators at Cologne as asylum seekers from Syria, even detaining or questioning some of them, according to reports by local newspaper "Kölner Stadt-anzeiger" and national daily "Die Welt," which published an online preview of investigations by its "Welt am Sonntag" Sunday paper.

According to the newspapers' reports, citing officers on duty on New Year's Eve, officials checked the IDs of at least 100 people present at Cologne's central station on December 31 after their behavior became conspicuous. Seventy-one people were identified, 11 people were remanded into custody and 32 criminal complaints were registered, according to the Welt am Sonntag (WamS) report.

"There were, quite to the contrary of what was said publicly, identity checks on numerous people," the WamS quoted an unnamed officer as saying. "Most of them were recently-arrived asylum-seekers."

The first internal police report on the event - a so-called "wichtige Ereignis Meldung" ("important event announcement") - spoke of a crowd mainly of "North African and Arab" origin. According to the Kölner Stadt-anzeiger, the officer leading the team at the station wanted the report to include mention of the Syrians and asylum seekers, but the senior officer writing the "WE-Meldung" decided not to, saying it would be "politically awkward."
...
"For the mostly Arabic offenders, sexual assault was the priority, or, to express it from their point of view, their sexual amusement was the priority. A group of men would encircle a female victim, close the loop, and then start groping the woman," WamS quoted the officer as saying.

I'm starting to feel like the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland -- you know, the one who said, "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." What is wrong with these stupid people? What kind of way is this to behave for anybody, much less guests in a country that takes you in when you have nowhere to go?

Okay, that's it. These reports, plus the very convincing report from 'Quaddafi' here in TNCR, have turned me around. Larry and Mik are right. These people are animals, and the radical ones need to get de-radicalized with extreme prejudice, the sooner the better, before they end up setting the peoples of the whole world against each other.

Belated thought: These people are like children, small children who haven't learned ethics or self control. In a child, this is natural. In an adult, it is primitive.

More from Finland:
Quote:

"There hasn't been this kind of harassment on previous New Year's Eves or other occasions for that matter... This is a completely new phenomenon in Helsinki," the Finnish capital's deputy police chief Ilkka Koskimaki told AFP.

Three sexual assaults allegedly took place at Helsinki's central railway station on New Year's Eve, where around 1,000 mostly Iraqi asylum seekers had converged.

"Police have... received information about three cases of sexual assault, of which two have been filed as complaints," Helsinki police said in a statement.

"The suspects were asylum seekers. The three were caught and taken into custody on the spot," Ilkka Koskimaki told reporters.

I bumped the 'Muammar' post to give people another chance to see it.

And I just did a quick review of US immigration law, and it seems we've got plenty of precedent for handling this whole deal in a way that protects the US from these people. Some of you already knew this, of course.

I'm getting a real education these days. :(blue:(

We should not demonize those who are the most in need simply because of the actions of a very small minority. You can always find bad people, bad Americans, bad English, bad French, bad Spanish, bad, white people, bad brown people, bad computer programmers, bad accountants, bad managers, bad clowns, bad Christians, bad atheists, bad Muslims, bad anyone and everyone. The identification of a small subset of group X who do bad things is of no consequence or significance.

4.4 million people have lost their homes due to a civil war not of their making, half are children, that is a real tragedy. We do well to focus on the 4.4 million innocents not on the 100 guilty.

Far greater harm will come to far greater numbers of innocent people if we simply abandon the victims of the Syrian civil war (a civil war our governments freaking fueled!) just because a tiny minority turn out to be bad apples.

Well, that's all well and good for the touchy feely crowd, but if overlooks a lot of stuff.

There is a group of Syrian refugees who aren't out raping and killing anyone - those who are Christians. Oh wait... but their numbers are a lot smaller because most of them get killed by the members of this.... "small subset".. before they even make it out of the country.

And of course, no one is opening their borders to them much anyway, everyone is too busy kissing muslim asses and flooding their countries with this.. "small subset"..

If you think that the majority of these people flooding into Europe and America are nice, peaceful people just wanting to be free, you're deluded. They're killing the good ones before they even make it out. We're all being overrun by the trash of their society.

Europe's Man Problem

Quote:

But one crucial dimension of this crisis has gone little-noticed: sex or, more technically, sex ratios.

According to official counts, a disproportionate number of these migrants are young, unmarried, unaccompanied males. In fact, the sex ratios among migrants are so one-sided — we’re talking worse than those in China, in some cases — that they could radically change the gender balance in European countries in certain age cohorts.

As many governments, including in the United States, debate how many migrants to accept onto their shores, they would be wise to take gender balance into consideration. That might sound sexist on the surface, but years of research has shown that male-dominated societies are less stable, because they are more susceptible to higher levels of violence, insurgence and mistreatment of women. In Germany, scores of women recently reported being attacked on New Year’s Eve by men whom the authorities describe as of “North African or Arabic” descent. While it is not yet known whether the alleged perpetrators were migrants, the attacks may finally be alerting policymakers to the risks of a male-dominated migration wave. Why would European societies, many of which rank highest on global measures of gender equality and stability and peace, jeopardize those hard-won and enviable rankings?
...

It makes good sense that so many young men are leaving countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria: Their demographic is often at greater risk of being coerced into joining fighting groups, or being killed rather than captured by such groups. But the result is that 66.26 percent of adult migrants registered through Italy and Greece over the past year were male, according to the International Organization of Migration.

That imbalance might not sound radical, but it is, especially when you look more closely at who those males are. It’s true that many male migrants hope that, if granted asylum, they will be joined in Europe by their wives and children, who would help balance out national sex ratios. But importantly, more than 20 percent of migrants are minors below the age of 18, and the IOM estimates that more than half of those minors traveling to Europe are traveling as unaccompanied minors — 90 percent of whom are males. This heavily male subset is all but guaranteed asylum because of their status as unaccompanied minors, but they get no special dispensation to bring spouses, especially since the European Court of Human Rights recently ruled that European Union countries are not required to recognize the legality of child marriages among migrants...

According to Swedish government statistics, as of the end of November, 71 percent of all applicants for asylum to Sweden in 2015 were male. More than 21 percent of all migrants to Sweden were classified as unaccompanied minors, representing more than half of all minor migrants to the country. For accompanied minors, the sex ratio was about 1.16 boys for every one girl. But for unaccompanied minors, the ratio was 11.3 boys for every one girl. In other words, the Swedish case confirms IOM’s statistic that more than 90 percent of unaccompanied minors are male. Indeed, on average, approximately 90 unaccompanied boys entered Sweden every single day in 2015, compared with eight unaccompanied girls.
