It's been a grand summer for sitting on the porch in the early evening. The bugs have been minimal, and the weather has been remarkably good. We really appreciate the time to relax and talk, and hubby enjoys having his beverage outside in the nice weather.

It's not always such a nice combination. Most years, either the bugs, the weather, or both, are a problem, but this summer has been golden.

*bliss*

Are you enjoying the season?

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Baaaad bugs this summer. Not sure why - last year was almost bug free.

I know exactly what you're talking about, Brenda. I've spent a lot of evenings sitting on the deck off my kitchen on the west side of the house. In the evening, it's shaded by trees in the yard and much of the summer has been very pleasant for sitting out and reading the newspaper after supper. We've not been troubled much by bugs, either.

I particularly recall one evening back in June when the fireflies made a grand appearance, twinkling all over the yard. As twilight set in, Venus and Jupiter were in near conjunction in the western sky with the moon not far away. I sat out until a number of stars had emerged, just generally enjoying the night. I was out there last night and saw one stray firefly still hanging on.

As you said, just grand.

Bad bugs here too! I think it was all the rain and lower temperatures at the beginning of summer.

We've been lucky about the humidity so far this summer, too. It's been just a great summer for weather here.

Y'all should come up to Minnesooooota!
