Finally
Putting aside her tenure at HP (and I haven't done enough research about it to have a real opinion), she's smart, fast-thinking, and savvy. Like Carson, I worry about foreign policy experience, and in her case, I worry about executive experience - see HP above.

Still, her quick thinking is delightful, and her ability to not back down is invigorating. And her rags to riches story is great, because Amerrricuh.

Not the first time she pushed back on a Democrat reporter (sorry, I repeated myself there).

I think the GOP needs to push back, call a spade a spade. Hillary Clinton is demonstrably a liar and will tell us anything she wishes us to believe. Her tenure as SOS was a disaster.

You should write a letter to the GOP, I don't think they've considered attacking Mrs. Clinton yet.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

George—and others—do you think that there's some kind of secret indoctrination school in college journalism departments that turns media majors into propagandists? Do you think the editors of every major and regional paper get kickbacks or something for toeing some party line?

No, it's more like a groupthink thing that begins in J school.

Then that's wrong, too.

I don't hold the profession in any high regard but I'm getting tired of hearing it branded as some kind of liberal conspiracy. Yes it's terribly biased but I think a lot of you are quite wrong about how the bias works.

I have observed it for over 35 years. I think I know precisely how it works. It appears you need to listen more closely to what they are saying.

It's nice to see that there are several that are capable of thinking on their feet and are willing to do it.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Longevity of listening to them doesn't prove or disprove the groupthink theory.

I believe that it's not because they're liberals and they have this conspiratorial agenda to push, but that they're trying to make their readers happy by giving them stories they know they'll pick up. Bonus points if you can get the other side to read it too, even if it's just to rant about it.

White cops killing unarmed black guys. I do not personally know a single journalist who actually believes that white police officers hate black people as a matter of course, or that cops learn racial profiling in some sort of classroom. But it'd be ridiculous to say that Area Man Shoots Other Area Man is as good a lead, so of course they're going to focus on racially charged situations.

It's the same reason why conservative media acts so frantic all the time. It's because the other guy's in the White House right now and fear's a great motivator for reading the newspaper. The liberals were doing it back in the early 2000s with Bush.

Maybe some members of the media are more biased than others, but if they have to choose between pushing some agenda over sensationalism, they're going to pick sensationalism every time. That's the business they're in, not propaganda.

There is no question that the majority of the mainstream media are liberal Democrats. Their bias is not something deliberate on their part which is precisely what groupthink means. They just can't even conceive of a different point of view.

My brother, a raving liberal, just chastised our 14 year old nephew on FB for posting a series of pictures that represented what he belies in. They included the American, rainbow and confederate flags, the Constitution, police, military, guns, Jesus, his favorite baseball team, local music and one symbol that expressed disgust with both major political parties.

He told this kid that there was cognitive dissonance in his choice of flags and he needed to rethink. A 14 year old kid just expressing his views, and my idiot brother could not conceive that these things just might mean something different to our nephew than HE perceived. That is exactly the kind of thing JB is talking about and it is rampant. It is largely why we cannot have a meaningful dialogue.

After this one the duck seems fairly rampant.

Seriousl, we can't keep having this same argument. It really is going nowhere.

It's just similar to having a conversation with my brother - 'If you say X, then it also means Y, because that is how I see the world and you have to as well'.

So far you have (1) not addressed what I said at all regarding the nature of media bias—I believe that details aside, they favor sensationalism over propaganda, but you have yet to even address this—(2) refused to answer my question about what the hell you're talking about with your brother, because clearly I don't know why you even felt the need to bring up that particular example, and (3) JB wants to shut down the entire discussion, but I'm the one being difficult here.

Also, I gave a detailed response to your "Kasich In NH" thread awhile back about why I don't like 'em but I see that got no response at all. You tell me if that response fits.
