Finally

As I've mentioned, D4 and I are planning our next trip to the West Coast. Current plans are arrive in Portland on Sunday, at around noon, and stay until Friday AM, leaving for Seattle. We'll have a 4 hour layover in Seattle, and then leave for Chicago at about 4 PM on Friday. I was thinking, would it be better use of our time to leave Portland on Thursday morning and have a full 24 hours in Seattle? Our plans in Portland were to spend one day at the Pacific coast, hopefully with some whale watching, one day in the city itself, and a day at the Columbia River Gorge at the various waterfalls. That's three full days, but we have one day to spare. Should we spend it in Seattle instead? |

Good question. I'd probably spread my time around more, though I'm not sure what I'd do in Seattle, since I don't know it so well and haven't researched it. IIRC, the downtown core is pretty walkable just like Portland, though perhaps just a slight bit more hilly. I'd probably take a ferry ride, because that is something you can't do in Portland. |
