Funny you should mention this. Just this very week I read a bit about Kant's discovery? supposition? conclusion? that "because our knowledge of the external world comes to us through our senses, it is always, in a certain sense, uncertain." The source goes on: "A strawberry is only red or sweet when it is observed through ... our eyes and our taste buds. (S)ome people with different taste buds may not experience it as sweet at all." Kant concluded that we can know nothing about things as they are in themselves" (and that) "reason cannot tell us about the world beyond our senses."

I don't know about you, but I feel sort of relieved by this.

For some in this board, the above is child's play, but for me it's a shiny new thing, so forgive me if I appear to be flogging the obvious.

I've always found the Uncertainty Principal rather comforting. However hard we try, we can never know everything, and frequently the more time we spend tracking one thing down, the more likely we are to lose sight of another.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

It sort of like God's way of saying "fcuk you."

Oh, Heisenberg?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Well, maybe. Or maybe it's its way of saying, "Just leave it to me, and don't worry so much."

I'm pretty certain this won't be my new backyard fire-pit.

A shame really... It would certainly get the neighbors talking about me... like they don't already.

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments
and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

Omigod, that is sensational.

Wait'll Mic sees this. He'll have a heart attack.

Maybe I'm missing something, Improv, but what does this excellent artifact have to do with Heisenberg?
