Hubby took me for a weekend of rest and rug hooking. No consistent cell service here.

The temporary meds have the bleeding under control for now. Will be a while before the next tests, and hubby thought I needed some rest and someone else to do the cooking.

Golly, he is so good to me. :)

We bought a large cooler full of fish to bring home, too. Been eating fish a couple times each week, sometimes more. Nice to get it directly from the fisherman up here.

It was wonderful. It's the kind of place where you can relax and nobody thinks you're lazy. :lol2:

The lodge also has a terrific restaurant, which made it a perfect destination. The food is healthy and so tasty. It's also a quiet place. Lots of readers in the solarium. I rug hook in there, with lots of natural light from the windows that face Lake Superior. At night the sounds of the lake lull you to sleep.

Only had one day last week, Monday, that I had trouble getting around. Was really weak and lightheaded, with Monday being the worst. I had trouble managing the blood loss, and my body was working overtime to make more, which left me dehydrated, weak, and having trouble thinking. I couldn't think how to call my doctor, and I had trouble speaking, because I couldn't recall words that I needed to complete a sentence. It's hard to imagine me having trouble finding words, when most people think I must get paid by the word. :lol2:

What I don't understand is how things went so wrong when I thought I was doing so well at staying hydrated. I was drinking a lot of fluids, knowing it was needed to help restore the lost blood. It just wasn't enough to keep up, but I don't know how I could have consumed more. I was avoiding all caffeine, too. I don't get it.

It scared hubby, and I am so sorry for that. He already has too much stress because of his mother, and now this happens.

I'm doing much better now, still drinking lots of fluids, and can get paid by the word again, if anyone should be inclined to send payment for such things. :lol2:

Sounds wonderful.
It really is. Besides the rest time and the excellent meals, we could take some short walks and never leave the lodge property. I couldn't venture very far, but that's okay, I could go to the lake and around other parts of the site. There were a couple kitties sleeping on the enormous log pile. I made sure to get acquainted with them.

I worked on my current rug project, and so many guests came by to ask me about it, and to tell me they love it. Even the guys love this project, not just the gals. I should have it done in a few months, and I will post pics. ( You all are so predictable here about wanting pics. :lol2: )

Thanks! Just waiting for my turn to have the next tests done, and trying to stay healthy during the wait.

You folks are good to keep me in fine spirits along the way. :)

HOLY CARP!!!
Please, keep us posted.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!
