Sounds like private shower stalls for ALL the students.

Huckabee's comments came in February at the 2015 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

I can think of few things more horrifying than sharing a shower-stall with a group of religious broadcasters, whatever their gender.

Changing genders is a big damn deal. Nevermind the medical costs, the constant shit they're going to have to put up with from people they'll meet and who know them now, their perpetual relationship issues that will ensue, the snide ass comments from armchair moralists on the internet, etc.; you also have to deal with the crazy shit people who actually care about you are going to do. I mean how in the hell can you expect someone who's known you for X years just start treating you like the opposite gender? There is a different protocol involved and it takes even your closest friends with the best intentions a lot of time to adjust to what the hell's going on.

These people weighed the choice between a life of gross misunderstanding, abuse, cruel jokes, snide comments from internet morons and serious relationship hangups, and sticking it out as they are. And still decided to go through with it. They deserve to be left the hell alone.

And before you pull the bleeding heart liberal card on me, I have a close friend who's going through this procedure as we speak and I've called bullshit on it. For her it's textbook attention-seeking behavior and she's lied about her reasons to doctors and friends. But not everyone is like that, and the ones who are truly serious about making this kind of change have a whole lot they're going to have to deal with. They don't need snide remarks.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Especially if Pastor Ted happens to show up.

I doubt Huckabee is trying to win a national election with this gibberish. He's signalling to his viewers, the rubes, insurgent ridge-runners, and indigent hillbillies that he's still got it.

In general, I agree with you completely. A lady who lived across the street from my parents was trans-gender, and she had gone through a hell which she clearly did not deserve.

My misgivings regarding Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner is that rather than being a genuine trans-gender issue, this is some really extreme method of trying to grab attention. The entire family is completely self-absorbed and media-obsessed, and appears willing to do anything to get publicity.

If this is the case with Caitlyn, she could be the worst thing that's ever happened to the trans-gender community.

Entirely possible. I certainly know people like that and I think it's pretty easy to tell. The folks who are just a little too enthusiastic and "comfortable" after the operation are generally the bullshit artists. The ones who try really hard not to stick out or are more self-conscious about their adjustment are usually the real deal.
