We are so lucky to have a poster who is free of a DS. We must all try harder to be like this. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

People protesting against a war they don't agree with is not treason, however the claim is a tactic that has been used repeatedly through the ages to prevent freedom of speech. Freedom of speech needs defending, even when it is inconvenient to the powers that be. No, scratch that - particularly when it is inconvenient to the powers that be. The hypocrisy of a number of both liberal and conservative commentators in this regard is frankly pretty breathtaking. This type of nonsense is one of the reasons I refuse to take political discussion seriously. The tribal instinct seems to take over. |

These are rather disappointing answers because it is so blatantly obvious that you would come to quite different conclusions about such statements being facts if they would not support your political stance. A little more honesty and reflection would do you all good. On the other hand, Cosmored would presumably approve these low standards for "facts". |

Klaus, if you recall I have not argued for anything being fact or opinion. You and Larry have. If you wish to call what I just posted my opinion, I'm fine with that. But it is based on what I have seen in this case and in my life. A man who denies what he can see clearly is, IMO, a fool. |

Klaus, the comparison to Cosmored is a bit unfair. He at least presents evidence to support his claims, howeve weak it may be. |

As far as the IRS is concerned, I'd say there is definitely a serious cause for concern that politically motivated targeting is going on, however to state that it is a proven fact that it was instigated by the WH is going too far. It's far from clear where the impetus for the targeting is coming from. Remember Ronald Reagan and Oliver North? People tried to argue that Reagan knew nothing about this clear and blatant attempt to break US law with Iran-Contra, and Reagan himself claimed he had no recollection of the decision - if entertaining that statement is even a possibility, then it must equally be possible for any IRS targeting to be outside of influence from Obama. Or are you chaps finally able to admit that Ronald Reagan was a criminal? |

No evidence has been presented that Obama sent the IRS to do anything. If you disagree, please summarize what that evidence is, using your own words. |

What do you see in this picture?![]() If you see a triangle, then, sorry, you are wrong. But since we are so used to triangles, our brain tends to "complete" the picture to something that fits to the concepts we are used to. Brains are lazy, hence it always wants to fit any new experience into the already existing conception of the world in that brain. It takes a lot more effort to add something new or change something existing. I don't know why I'm mentioning this, but it just popped into my head while thinking about this thread. |

OK, so now that you have backed off Larry's well defined statement and opened it up to "anything" the evidence is clear. Mr. Obama went on national television with Bill O'Reilly and initiated the cover-up with the famous smidgen remark. We all watched it live. |

Larry, trotting out a bunch of conservative talking heads and websites isn't exactly an objective analysis. I was originally happy to admit that this is a legitimate area of concern, but the more you link to this sort of stuff, the more doubts I have
