On Tuesday, the research firm Public Policy Polling released the results of a new national survey of Republican voters, which showed Walker leading the G.O.P. race, with twenty-five per cent of the vote. He was seven percentage points ahead of the candidate in second place, Ben Carson...

That's all you need to know right there.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Hatchet job masquerading as journalism. No mention of the fact that the public sector unions were strangling Wisconsin.

As far as 'nods and winks to the fringe right', the guy is right. A serious candidate should not answer questions like that. They are just gotchas meant to lead to personal destruction by the media. More power to him.

Would have to ask if you did.

So, do you back Scott Walker for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination?
If not, who is your preferred candidate at this point?

I have no preferred candidate.

Outside of Iowa, I suspect most Republicans don't.

First the cliches:

"Tax Cuts for the Wealthy" - Check
"Union 'rights' stripped" - Check
"Koch Brothers" - Check
"Rudy Giuliani" - Check
"Far right fringe" - Check
"Muslim" - Check
"Evangelical" - Check
"conservative plutocracy" - Check

Then we get into the adjectives:

"odious politician"
"Presidency would be a disaster."
"serious gaffes that raised questions about Walker’s political abilities."
"indecent and craven"
"most conservative"
"determined politician who has already been through one tough race" - actually through at least two tough races

Lot of bluster, not much substance in that piece. Sorta what I'd expected.

We could start the next version of GOP candidate bingo with that list.
