I was moving one foot over the other and caught the big toe inside the cuff of my jeans and down I went . It was like doing a fast Indian squat. Suddenly, I was sitting on the carpet pondering how to get up. Oh the joys…

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

We had detention after school in high school. It was informally referred to as jug. I spent a lot of time there.

Brother Finnerty would come in at the beginning of jug and say "squat". So everyone squatted.

About 25 minutes later he would say "stand". So everyone stood.

About 5 minutes later he would say "squat". So everyone squatted.

About 25 minutes later he would say "leave". So everyone left.

That's it. An hour in jug, 4 words, see you tomorrow.

Seeing the word squat like that brings back memories.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Finally
We had "jug" as well. However, I was not as frequent a flyer as you were. For us, it was an hour of sitting at your desk, in silence, not doing anything for an hour.

By the way, have you seen this?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I haven't seen it and it's not on Netflix, I'll have to use youtube.

We did homework in jug, from a squatting position.

Some people can maintain that pose comfortably and indefinitely, but not everybody. I did some minor permanent damage to a hamstring tendon when I did it in high school, while at a meeting for which all the seating had been taken. I didn't want to stand out in the crowd, so I held the position against the protests of my body. I figured it was just a bit of discomfort.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?
