Finally
What what barrel price does it become cheaper to import than to "drill, baby, drill"?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

That's what got us into trouble in the first place.

Well, of course it depends on the field, or even the well, but from what I've read the oil shale industry is 'not healthy' with oil under 70, and pretty much dead at 50.

There are also plenty of projects in the works in nastier offshore places that probably are getting uneconomic right now. Of course many of those will continue apace just given their long term nature, unless this price drop last for ages.. (which I doubt, but what the hell do I know?)

I'd be curious what the economics of the oil sands of Alberta are like. That ain't no $20 oil there, either.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
