If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
This is an interesting one... the Justice Department apparently used keeping their benefits as a carrot to get them to leave voluntarily - for decades. Now grandstanding irate Congressmen want to take it away from them.

What is the legal basis to deny an American citizen their benefits because of suspicion? They have not been convicted of anything. If they have evidence and want to try them, have at it. Otherwise, as much as I might not like the result, I don't see how they can strip them of benefits.

There are some things that can be done now to take away a person's income forever and no proof, justification or due process has to be followed. All you really have to do is accuse the person.

I don't want to be too specific because someone might accuse me. For more information see the recent headlines about football players or police.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
