Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. | |

I find Church to be interesting. One may not agree with his politics - he has a libertarian bent - but he is extremely knowledgeable about American history from about 1780 until 1861, with most of his emphasis on the Constitutional Convention and the players therein. Part of his show this morning talked about Patrick Henry vs. Madison and Jefferson, concerning the mention of God in the Constitution and whether religion in government or lack of it, influenced Lincoln in his decision to go to war with the South, as the Civil War may not have fit the classic definition of a Just War. |

Let us know how you like it if you buy it, Jolly. A search at Amazon tuned up 34 John Hancock publications. It seems that no one knows how many the insurance company was responsible for over the years. There are, no doubt, quite a few gems among the ephemera generated for advertising or public relations purposes. I have six framed Pennsylvania Railroad calendar pictures from the 1930s and 1940s hanging on my family room wall. I found them in the basement of a store my father and I were visiting when I was a child and the store owner sold them to me for 50 cents apiece. When I was in Guatemala in the early 1990s, I noticed how many calendar pictures were hanging in some homes I visited, with the old date panels cut off the bottom. It reminded me of poorer homes when I was a child where the art to decorate the walls was largely the same thing. All part of a vanished era here. Big Al |
