If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

Our troops should flat out refuse to go. If one single soldier gets infected then I will join the calls for impeachment. 10st Airborne will not get hazmat suits - just masks and gloves. Administration says 'they won't need it' |

HOLY CARP!!!
|
Something is amiss ... even without the threat of Ebola, it is hard to imagine any sizable military deployment without hazmat suits. And 4000 qualifies as "sizable." Does it make sense to wear hazmat suits while doing construction work (e.g., building a field hospital)? Of course not. But to not even have a few hazmat suits tagging along with any sizable military deployment seems odd. Speculating that may probably be counting on already having hazmat suits on a ship nearby and can be delivered in a matter of hours should the need arise.

What are they doing? Treating patients or building field hospitals or something else altogether? |

Geaux Tigers!

Somebody's lying through their teeth. The Pukin' Chickens don't build didley. They are air assault troops. They seize ground through vertical envelopment, kicking the crap out of whoever needs it and hold their posts until relieved. They are the very, very pointy tip of the spear. |

Jolly's right. That's like sending the Rangers over to run soup kitchens. It makes no sense. |

Maybe it really is an effort to bolster the infrastructure of these countries. They also desperately need more health workers of all types. The infection figures we are gettting are probably way down on reality. |

The only thing the 101st does to bolster infrastructure is kill people and break things. |

For Duty and Humanity! |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |
