I've written before about Reveille, one of the most beloved mascots in college football. Each day, Reveille is assigned to a different cadet (I'm not sure about game situations). If Reveille wants to sleep on your bed, you sleep on the floor. If Reveille barks during class, class is immediately dismissed. And when Reveille dies, he is buried just outside of the of the football stadium, with his nose pointed towards the endzone and a big screen tv in front of the graves, so that even in death he can watch the Aggies play. There is another tradition at Texas A&M. In one's senior year, you buy a very expensive ($1326) pair of boots as part of your cadet uniform. Because of Reveille, one cadet won't have to buy his own boots... http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11575027/texas-cadet-praised-block-protect-mascot |
