Installed on my iPhone 5C, so far so good.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Finally
I read that you need a TON of free space for the upgrade. Though it only takes about a gig extra, you have to have about 4-5 gig free for shuffling things around. I was going to do it, but I don't want my apps to break when I'm out of town. I'll keep it on iOS7 for now.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I read that it doesn't need as much extra space during the install if you do it through iTunes instead of just on the iPhone. So that is what I did. I might have had trouble if I just used the device.

When it started up in iOS 8 it asked if I wanted 4 new Apple Apps - they look like MS Office for the iPhone and a Movie Maker. I haven't tried them yet but they are big - 300-500 MB each. After the installs I was just about out of free space.

HOLY CARP!!!
My 5C is a 16GB which is nearly always within a couple hundred MB of being full. I don't know much about iOS8 are there many advantages to upgrading?
