I see similar motivation, John, but again we are talking about competence and subtlety.

Whole thing is starting to look like a Clinton hatchet job to taint any serious competition.
It could just as easily be the baggers as the Clintons.
Hmm. You have a point there, D'Oh.

It is pretty hard to imagine Michele Bachmann coming up with something like this on her own.

3. It was in fact a set-up hatchet job. That has its own implications.

Ms. Clinton is implications-proof.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

She's good. How do you think she got Christie's chief of staff, campaign manager, and top two port Authority appointees on board?

All I know is he never cleared it with me first. If I found out he was involved, his blown chance for the White House will be the very least of his problems.

Good to see you Frank.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Is it just me, or have recent doings by the Romney clan have him looking at another run?
He seems to be throwing cold water on the idea.

Damn... who knew that closing a couple traffic lanes would trump NSA spying on citizens and IRS targeting/coverups.

Let me see if I can become outraged............... working..........working........

Nope... ain't happenin' here.

In what sense 'trump'?

Certainly not media coverage. NSA gets far more attention.

And the IRS stuff?

Invalid comparison.

When the email from Valerie Jarrett to the IRS surfaces, let's talk.

Seems to me the only way you even hear about the IRS scandal would be if you're watching FoxNews. I certainly don't see it covered elsewhere on MSM.

They're off talking about missing airplanes and black holes. I still don't understand what Oprah has to do with this...

Is there something you're not telling us, jon? :whome:

Surely there's a GKSR for that...let me look.

Oh, yeah, here.

When the Department of Justice investigated itself in the Fast and Furious issue, there was silence. And, yeah, guess who ran the investigation into the NSA - yep, James Clapper. How about the investigation into the DEA? That was conducted by the Department of Justice . And, finally, let's not forget the Benghazi investigation, conducted by the Department of State.

For some reason I can't imagine, the New York Times seemed less interested when those agencies investigated themselves. But then, we're not talking about drugs or dead ambassadors. We're talking LANE CLOSURES.

Re Benghazi, the State Dept and DOD (and maybe the CIA?) did a joint investigation and probably did a good job in finding any holes in existing security procedures.

Oh, and it was also investigated by 5 separate congressional committees.

Last I checked, the political "scandal" wasn't about security procedures that may have prevented the death of an Ambassador so much as litigating whether the word 'terrorism' was used Tuesday morning at 11 or Wednesday afternoon at 2 and stuff of that nature. Has that changed?

So am I!

Federal Probe Finds No Link to Christie

Quote:

The U.S. Justice Department investigation into New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s role in “Bridgegate” has thus far uncovered no information he either knew in advance or directed the closure of traffic lanes on the George Washington Bridge, federal officials tell NBC 4 New York.

The September 2013 closures -- where several entrance lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Ft. Lee were shut down causing a traffic nightmare for commuters -- has been the subject of several federal and state investigations.

Federal officials caution that the investigation begun nine months ago is ongoing and that no final determination has been made, but say that after nine months authorities have uncovered no information Christie either knew in advance or ordered the closure of traffic lanes.

According to one former federal prosecutor, who had no involvement in any of the probes into the bridge closure, investigations of this kind will often turn up a solid connection early in the inquiry.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday said that his office is cooperating with a subpoena from federal authorities investigating whether any laws were broken when lanes near a New Jersey bridge were apparently closed for political retribution. Brian Thompson reports.
