Just drove past this

HOLY CARP!!!
Went to grab some Chinese food for dinner, and drove past this. It must have just happened, the cops weren't even there yet.

When I drove by again 15 min later, there were 5-6 cop cars on scene, and they had all the westbound lanes blocked off.

No clue! Couldn't figure that out. It's a clear day, no rain or anything, and no sign of another vehicle involved.

That center post didn't cave in all by itself. I wonder what they hit (or what hit them)?

Agreed. That car was t-boned.
It would've had to have been t-boned HARD to be flipped like that, no?

Do you think they survived? All the airbags were deployed.

They could easily have hit the curb, whacked a telegraph pole and then flipped over.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Ask D'Oh how he knows that...

I once destroyed a good 50 feet of ancient English hedgerow on an icy morning, after skidding on black ice, hitting a curb and taking my little Talbot for a roll or two. My car was in considerably worse shape than that little fender-bender, although back then of course we didn't have poncy airbags to protect us. I was forced to leave the overturned car by punching out the windscreen, before being narrowly missed by another young lad driving far too fast who then proceeded to drive his car into what was left of the fence I had just partially demolished.

I'm glad I've never flipped my vehicle over like the one in the picture.

Young lad apparently didn't learn anything by watching you!
