Just arrived!

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Surprisingly bad reviews for this one. I really enjoyed the first two. How is it Copper?
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

So far it is similar to Arkham City. It is the same game play engine. I am using it on a PC.

Somehow I bypassed the Steam connection when I installed Arkham City, so I needed the DVD in the machine to use it. This time I just let the installation take all the defaults and I don't need the DVD, so that is a step up. Also when I entered the DVD code from Arkham into Steam and now I can get to that without the DVD.

I did have one small glitch when I first started using it. There was a bad guy who went into some kind of zombie status. I couldn't hit him and he couldn't hit me and the game wouldn't progress until he was knocked out. I restarted the game and it was OK. It was on one of the easy early scenes, I hope it doesn't crop up in a difficult scene later.

Do you guys find playing on a PC to be a better experience than gaming systems?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

It depends on the game. With any sort of action game it's a matter of training your hands to react with the controller. I've owned most of the consoles. I don't play them much anymore, but I still use the pc games sometimes so I'm more used to that at the moment.

I think the quality and game play is similar but I'm not an expert on the latest console games anymore.

First person games (e.g. Crysis, Bioshock Infinite) are infinitely better on the PC IMHO. For third person games such as Batman, I don't think it matters so much - in fact, the console can be a bit easier.

If you've got a decent PC, they also look quite a bit better than on a console, but to be honest I don't notice after a while. Sometimes you also get more features, like the ability to save wherever you want rather than use predefined save points.

On the down side, you're never totally sure a PC game is going to run - particularly after a new operating system comes out. I've had a few older games that just won't work on Windows 7.

That being said, although we own an X-box I hardly ever use it.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

I am clearly a remedial gamer. Haven't the slightest idea what y'all are talking about.

IMHO, it depends entirely on the gameplay. Specifically, how many things you might have to do at any given time.

Shooters are ideal for consoles. You don't have to do all that much stuff, just move around in about a dozen different ways and rotate through weapons. You just need a basic controller for that.

But RPGs, especially the long, involved and tedious RPGs, have way too much stuff going on for that to be feasible. (Final Fantasy, Warhammer and WoW, I'm looking in your direction.) You play that sort of game on a console and either you waste a third of your playing time navigating an endless rolodex of menus, or you have to keep stopping to get enough time to send a group chat message, clear away your mail, trade potions with the guy beside you, etc. Get a PC if more involved RPGs are your thing.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Speaking of long, involved and tedious RPGs, Baldur's Gate is on iPad, LD. Enhanced edition, with one of the expansions.

BG2 coming out this month.

Just sayin'.
