If God is omnipotent, how come bacon makes up less than 100% of pig meat?
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Due to an inherent moral weakness common to most Englishmen I'm genetically incapable of having more than 4 bottles of wine in the house at any time without risking immediate and irreparable liver damage.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

4 bottles will fit in there also quite nicely

Ended up finding a smaller (16.6 cu ft) Frigidaire, still energy star, still frost free, still with ext temp display, for under $600.

http://www.frigidaire.com/products/Kitchen/Freezers/FFH17F7HW.aspx

(that MSRP is much higher than what I found locally)

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Cool. What's the minimum external temperature for this freezer to keep operating?

It doesn't mention one specifically. Rather it says it can operate at low ambient temperatures and tells you not to install a compressor heater (which I suppose would be a workaround for other brands)

From the manual:

Quote:

For the most efficient operation, the freezer should be located where surrounding
temperatures will not exceed 110°F (43°C). Temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below will NOT
affect freezer operation. Additional compressor heaters are not recommended.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

My wine drinking days are numbered, unfortunately. Otherwise I'd probably have something like yours.

Our two freezers are very similar to that, Jon, just a larger size, and we think they work great. They are not energy hogs, they stay frost free as advertised, and they are easy to organize the foods. I also appreciate the warning system if the door is accidentally left ajar.

You'll be glad to have it.

i didn't know this and that u r alcohol free.

on the other hand, the up side, you dont have to throw away money on upscale wine just to satisfy a base urge.

Well, I'm not alcohol free yet. As soon as I'm 'active' on the list I'll need to be, and then forever afterward. That's probably still a year away or so. So I'm enjoying it while I can.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Good choice on fridge; we have an older very similar one by Electrolux (fits under the stairs), and a matching freezer in the utility. Need that size when you're starting a family. Lasted 13 years so far.

+1.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!
