Those mean old white people are just awful. |
|
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

I think his point is more that all the mean old white people will be dead in 15-20 years, and the GOP will be unelectable. |

Right after the election, the choice before them was to reengage with the world or double down on angry and white. They chose the latter. If I didn't know any better I would have thought he was talking about the forums. |

There was a lot of talk after the election about increasing the appeal to hispanic voters. All they seem to have done is found a nutcase with the surname 'Cruz' and hope that giving him lots of airtime tips the balance. |

It's not only the current batch. White people just get like this when they reach the age of reason. And they are living longer so there will be even more of them. |

If you're banking your future on an ever-increasing proportion of whites in the US, then you are likely to be sorely disappointed. |

It's true - it is an echo chamber for old white men I'm not a Democrat supporter, so it's really none of my concern. My future as an old white man is mostly banked with a little embossed card that says 'Citizenship of Canada' on it. |

And 8 years later the democrats had to have a telethon and beg for money to keep from going out of business - because their debt was so high. |

I remember the young Prince Hal bobbing for apples with Falstaff. Of course, he had to kill him later on. Jumpers for goal posts..... |

The GOP's civil war |
|
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis
