These are no ladies. They invade our home, make a mess, and stink to high heaven when smooshed. Anybody got a sure fire way to kill these little buggers, other than smooshing them one by one? |

HOLY CARP!!!
|
Just tell 'em their house is on fire and their children are alone. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |

It is a sin against nature to smoosh a ladybug. Dustbuster catch and release. |

HOLY CARP!!!

The Zen thing to do would be to release billions of aphids in your home and learn to appreciate the ladybugs. |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

I for one am always happy to see a ladybug. But then again, this may be different if they invaded my house. |

These are not lady bugs, they are lady beetles, the imported ones that have overpopulated the countryside. They were brought in to deal with aphids or some other pest, and now they are a pest in their own right. |

Again, these are different from lady bugs. These actually bite the skin, too. |

Interesting. I wonder if this lady beetle is already here? I've never known any problems. The information I found seems to say also that vacuuming is the best way to clean them up, but also that they can secrete the bad odor even if just "disturbed". |

That's the method I use, and it is smelly. Even the cats dislike them. |

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

Ladybugs are a true red. Those orange ones are Japanese beetles. Nuke 'em. |

These lady bugs are especially annoying if you live in a log home like I do. They invade the log home I live in every autumn. |

I read somewhere that you can get traps with a black light or some such thing that attracts them. Just periodically empty the trap outside away from the house. |

AC, yes, I just read a report from Iowa State University that cited something similar. I also read that spraying outdoors can be effective. Hubby was talking of spraying, and I think we may have to do both the indoor traps and outdoor spraying. They make such a mess. The Boxelder (aka Box Elder) bugs are also a nuisance here. They can completely cover entrances to buildings. |
