Anybody here make popovers? I'm shopping for a popover pan. Hubby loves popovers, and I have never made them, because I understand it takes a proper pan to do it well. I'd like to surprise him and make some really good ones. What kind of pan do you use? Does it work well for you? Do you like the pan that makes the regular, big popovers, or do you prefer the mini sized version? I'm reading that the Nordic Ware pans are quite good.

No clue, but if I were to buy a pan of that sort Nordic Ware would be at the top of the list. |

Alright, it's the Nordic Ware that gets rave reviews, so now it's a matter of large (regular) or mini popovers. Amazon has the best prices I've seen. Is my hubby the only one here who likes popovers? I did not grow up having these, so I am new to all this. |

Not sure i had ever heard of a popover before this thread. |
| In my defense, I was left unsupervised. | |

We eat them around Christmas time. Make them in a baking dish and you have Yorkshire Pudding. Easy to make - 4 ingredients. We use my Mom's old popover pan - heavy old cast iron thing. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. I use a muffin pan to make mine - I wonder how much of a difference the real pan makes... |

This could start trouble. And I believe yorkshire pudding can come in many sizes including small. |

You have to have a really hot oven and butter that pan really well. Don't open the oven door until they are done. A glass front oven door is a must. |

From what I have read: More lift, more height, more *poof*. Makes them airier inside and crispier outside. |
