I'm toying with the idea of attending one, but am curious as to what kind of savings one can usually find there. If it's not much off of Edmund's or KBB, it's probably not Roth the trip. Any ideas?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

HOLY CARP!!!
Attended a DEA auction (maybe, I remember it was several cars, one boat, and one RV confiscated in drug raids) once, back in '86 or '87. Mostly was interested because there was a Citroen SM on the block, so I took my Dad because he owned a few DS 21's. There were no bargains that day in my opinion. IIRC my Dad felt the SM in the condition it was in (did not run) was probably $2500-3500 and I think it sold for $5k or more.

That said, I would think you might get a bargain as long as someone crazy isn't bidding against you. It only takes one person competing to drive the price right out of sight.
