It seems like they're effectively exiting the smartphone business.

Not sure they could find a buyer at this point.

Sad.

Does anyone know anybody with a Blackberry 10?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Poor Mik ... he's still pretty fond of his BlackBerry.

And poor Obama ... the Secret Service has so far approved only one smartphone for POTUS' use, and that's a BlackBerry.

May be Mik will start to feel like he's in the same boat as Obama and be nicer to him.

Just another indicator of business at warp speed. Cycles that used to take a century now take a decade.

But Mik - do you have the 10 or the 7? I think they are still experiencing some sales of the 7.

Putting all the failed smart phone companies together like this makes a lot of sense. If they can combine the style of Blackberry with the hipness of Microsoft, and have it running on a Nokia, we could really see something outside the old Bell curve.

Had an investment advisor try to push Blackberry stock on me just before they introduced the Playbook. So glad I passed.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

My bride won a Plabook. Sucks. We lost it somewhere in the house and do not care, other than I could give it away and take tax deduction.

I've lost a lot less money in the last three years than Blackberry. I wonder if anybody would buy me for that much.

Admittedly, I don't know much about designing successful cell phones, but I'd be willing to have a bloody good go at it for that kind of cash. I could do an English version of Siri which just told people that I didn't understand what they saying due to their stupid foreign accent.

The more I read about the buyout offer the more it seems like far from a done deal. We'll see.

Sounds like they can't find funding. (Really, would you loan money to blackberry?)

Breakup might be what's next.

This will probably send my stock in TriQuint Semiconductor back into the crapper (where currently it's just circling around and around, dodging floaties and wads of TP).
