was crass and exploitative?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

HOLY CARP!!!
No more exploitative than the NFL and every other advertiser using "respect for the military" to extract more money from people.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

It wasn't the performance itself. They wanted a children's choir to back up Jennifer Hudson who covered Ray Charles' version of America The Beautiful. No problem. The decision to use those particular children? I don't think travelling to theSuperbowl ang getting to sing to essentially the entire world is what these kids really need right now.

I understand from our friends in Newtown that were involved, that the kids were treated very well indeed. Ms. Hudson spent hours with them personally helping with vocal technique, delivery etc. It is a very strong community here in Western CT. As hurt as everyone is, no one seems to want to wallow in self pity and the like. During the storms last fall with major power outages all over the place, everyone pulled together as needed. There was none of the "woe is me" crap that the media seems to focus on.
Regards,
Chris

was crass and exploitative?

Yes.

It was also a nice gesture.

Net, it was fine, no big deal.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
