HOLY CARP!!!
I was just at the bank getting some cash. I walked up to an open teller. Another teller I often deal with came over and said "Hi, how are you!" very enthusiastically. Then she said "I just wanted to see someone friendly." The other teller said "She just had a very unfriendly customer before you came in." and the other added, "Yeah so I've been on the lookout for customers I know are friendly to brighten my mood."

It made me laugh. I often go to this particular bank's branch, because the customer service there has always been so excellent, and the staff are all very helpful. Good customer service goes a long way in keeping customers.

To me, the worst part of working at a job where you're dealing with the public is that some people can be quite rude for no good reason.

I think most customers are pleasant with you. But their's always one that isn't.

Maybe this customer had good reason to be mad. I don't know because I wasn't there. However, if he was out of line, then shame on him.

Yep, Mike, that's true.

But sometimes you can have fun with the rude ones.

To wit, a blast from the TNCR past:

When I was in college I played a mall Santa one year, very briefly. Thinking this would be a good opportunity to showcase my dramatic talents, it was a nightmare of the photogs trying to get me to con the parents into photos. Ick.

The second day, two teen girls came up and both got on my lap at once, and were teasing and giving me a hard time... finally one said really loud 'Oh, Santa, quit wiggling your knee like that!'

In the inspired moment, I belted out in my loudest, best Santa voice 'HO HO HO!. THAT'S NOT SANTA'S KNEE,DEAR!',

They turned seven shades of red and ran off. I was terminated summarily, which I considered a blessing. It was the worst job I ever had, which is a shame.

Hat's off to you, sir! :thumb: I've quit jobs in any and all manner of circumstances but never in a way so hilarious.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Well played, Mik. :lol2:

In retrospect, I was fired from every retail job I ever had. Except one. In that one, I told one customer, who'd complained about my service, that he better not come in the store ever again if I was working. Still, I didn't get fired for it. One can only do so much.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Slacker. You'll have to try harder to achieve termination velocity.
