Leaving the city - effect on car insurance

I called Geico today to get an idea of what I'll pay once we move. It's not just moving, we'll actually get a second car and it won't be ancient.

Today I pay 434 every 6 months for liability only, no collision no comp, no glass, no towing, nada.

Moving to Westchester and adding a new Honda fit, with collision and comp my total price only goes up to 594.

So net effect is 160 to add a second, new car with much more coverage.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
It's always the liability that gets you. Glad it is not going up much.

If you have a house and two cars you should look into a single "umbrella" liability policy. It would cover all 3 and have a lower price tag and higher value than all the three separate policies combined.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Copper beat me to it. Yes, if you don't already have the multi-policy discount, ask for it. Umbrella coverage is also an option.
