As mentioned before, last night I went to see,
"Satchmo At The Waldorf"
It is a one man show, 90 minutes long. The star, John Douglas Thompson is wonderful. He actually switches between four persona's. Satch, Dizzy, Miles, and his long time manager,
Joe Glazer. With voice and mannerisms he goes from one to the other effortlessly.
Having said that, the rest is well, let me say I heard the words
MF, N, More then in the four years I was in the service.
It just went on and on.
Miles not only thinks of Satch as an Uncle Tom, but also would love to strangle a white person befor he dies.
Thankfully Dizzy's part is small, and he thought of Satch the same way.
Dinner after was outstanding.

HOLY CARP!!!
What did you have? You were going to a steakhouse or something like that, no?

Sounds like an interesting show, but I understand how the repeated use of a word/phrase can really grate.

Sue, I had (after Martinis) a 1 1/2 inch thick T bone Veal Chop.
The G F had a 8 ounce Fillet. We each had a tossed salad, and shared A huge baked potato, and a large batch of asparagus with slivered almonds.
A nice Merlot.
No room for desert. Just espresso.
