It is permissible to say 'shed yule', provided one prefixes it with the adjective 'bloody', as in 'you've missed the bloody shed-yule, you stupid pillock'.

Up here both pronunciations are used. Myself, I always say "Shed-you-all".

What really grates my ears though is hearing my five year old say "Zee" instead of "Zed".
