Good for her. She made a decision based on her own values and is willing I assume to take the associated risks to her career.

Had no idea she was even still around.

I wouldn't be pissed if I were a fan of hers. I've been stood up by bands for far more ridiculous reasons.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Yeah, Aqua, she just released an album that took the record for most characters in an album title!

Also, the music is fairly good.

P.S. I accidentally hit report instead of quote at first. So watch your back man, I almost had you moderated!
We're all mad here!

Pffffft good luck with that; I am many things but moderate is certainly not one of them. :P

I got stood up by Deep Purple because they broke up. That was rediculous.

They showed up for me. It is why JB can hear to this day. And I can't.

Just as an added side, I always think of JB in his 'stang when I hear Highway Star.

Well, that made me cry. I like her music a lot, although it's pretty angsty. IIRC, I got one of her albums from George when he was doing an E-Bay purge.

She has a really interesting history. She was raped by stranger at age 12 which apparently led to an eating disorder and psychological problems.

Quote:

"I was really depressed and self-loathing. For me, it wasn't about being thin, it was about getting rid of the bait attached to my body. A lot of it came from the self-loathing that came from being raped at the point of developing my voluptuousness.

"I just thought that if you had a body and if you had anything on you that would be grabbed, it would be grabbed. So I did purposely get rid of it."

Heard a long-form interview with her a few months ago, I thought she was thoughtful and interesting. If a little bit nutty. But I guess that comes with the territory.

If I said I didn't want to come into work for a month because my dog was sick, I'm pretty sure I'd get fired.

Then again, if I said I wanted to go to India and swan around like an arse 'finding myself' because I'd broken up with my girlfriend I'd probably struggle to remain employed too, due to 'Artistic Differences' between me and my management.

Well, exactly. It's a lot easier to have an artistic temperament when you're bloody rolling in it. To be honest, I'd never heard of her until today. I shall go back to my philistine ignorance tomorrow.

She's talented and very beautiful. Not that that second part had anything to do with her success.

Here is another link about this gal's decision. I don't know her from Adam (get it? apple, Adam :whome: Oh, well, move along people, nothing' to see here). But, anyway, I digress. This article is a real tear jerker, at least for me. Some of you may remember that I've wanted a Wolfhound for, oh, like forever. I think my heart and soul dog may well be a Wolfie even though I've never owned one.

Personally speaking, i never cared much for his Rainbow years but I think he's done some damn fine music since he started hobbiting. Have a listen to the tune Fires at Midnight

He's now merrily wanking and hobbiting all the way to the bank.

Sounded good though. On the order of Renaissance and early Fairport Convention or Strawbs.

Well, d'uh! Imagine is she's on tax payer funded welfare program and seeks to stay on said welfare program with an excuse like "I can't work because my dog is sick ..." -- imagine all the creative labels our crusaders for job creators would put on her!

Ok sorry, D'Oh made the point better than I did and I didn't get it and restated it as if I made it. Sorry about that.

Nah ... not aiming that at you, and certainly don't find any fault with your posts; just ribbing on the commentators who like to crusade on behalf of the "job creators" and accuse the "welfare queens" for hardly working. :D
