What if it's the electorate?

It speaks of the GOP establishment leadership trying to tweak their approach to managing their primaries to produce nominees who are more electable in general elections. They seem to think that it's about how they (the party leadership) approach it; but what if it's really their electorate? What if, regardless of what the party leaders want, their primry electorate just want to elect the same sort of nominees they been electing?
