HOLY CARP!!!
FFI

I watched a documentary about this disease last night. Had never heard of it before. I think about how punchy I get after a couple of nights in a row with not much sleep, how hard it is to function optimally, and then try to imagine what hell this disease would be.

I've seen stories about that. Terrifying.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

I've never heard of it before. How awful that would be.

HOLY CARP!!!
They showed some pictures of someone who died from it. His face, after a few weeks, with tiny pin prick pupils, and just barely open, was so painful to see. Anyone whose ever looked at themselves in the mirror after a sleepless night can relate. What was horrifying was seeing the same man several months later, on his death bed. He looked like he'd aged 100 years.

They also interviewed a young woman who was about to be married. Her father, several uncles and aunts, grandparents and so on, had died from it. She chose not to be tested; didn't want to know. I understand that, but if I wanted to have kids (as she did), I would most certainly want to know. Kids have a 50% chance of carrying the gene. I wouldn't want to risk passing it on to another generation. Adoption would be my choice.
