HOLY CARP!!!
(hat tip Quirt)

Interview with Mississipi Tea Party leader Ms. Janis Lane:
http://www.jacksonfreepress.com/news/2012/jun/27/christian-rednecks-and-patriots-tea-party-chat/

Quote:

...
But do you think there are too many male politicians telling women what to do with their bodies?

[...]

Lane: I'm really going to set you back here. Probably the biggest turn we ever made was when the women got the right to vote.

What do you mean?

Lane
: Our country might have been better off if it was still just men voting. There is nothing worse than a bunch of mean, hateful women. They are diabolical in how than can skewer a person. I do not see that in men. The whole time I worked, I'd much rather have a male boss than a female boss. Double-minded, you never can trust them.

Because women have the right to vote, I am active, because I want to make sure there is some sanity for women in the political world. It is up to the Christian rednecks and patriots to stand up for our country. Everyone has the right to vote now that's 18 or over (who is) a legal citizen, and every person that's 18 and over and a legal citizen should be active in local politics so they can make a change locally, make a change on the state level and make a change in Washington, D.C.

So, is this meant to be a slur against the Tea Party or Mississippi?

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

If her views are representative of those held by the Mississippi Tea Party, why would they be considered a slur against either?

I was refering to this thread, not her views. Just trying to figure out which was intended to be cast in a bad light by this although I can see that it could have been both.

So, is this meant to be a slur against the Tea Party or Mississippi?
Seeing that Ms Janis Lane is the president of the Central Mississippi Tea Party, this is at least a slur against all in the Central Mississippi Tea Party who voted Ms Lane their party president.

BTW, I hope similar critical thinking can be used when reading about extreme Islamic jihadist acts usually referencing "religion of peace" or similar verbiage.

Where's the wingnuttery?
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

As much as some people would like to suppress it, there will always be people with controversial and differening viewpoints. This is hers, no doubt based on her own experiences. It will never lead to any change in voting rights for women and so it is irrelevant, a sideshow trotted out solely to try to discredit whole groups of people.

It's a question.

Ax indicates there is wingnuttery in the above story.

I am asking where.

Yes, let's not mention ANY of the nutjob crap that came from the OWS bunch, and let's not mention Louis Farrakhan's remarks just yesterday telling blacks that they must vote for Obama because "outside forces are trying to keep America white". Let's not mention any of the stupid, mean, nasty sh!t to come out of the mouths of Obama himself, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or any of the other leftwing heros.....

let's all focus on the remarks of one woman in Mississippi who dared to state her opinion about something controversial.

I never cease to be amazed at the selective hearing displayed by leftwing nutjobs.

My opinion is that she has an opinion.

Does having an opinion = wingnuttery?

Can you see the difference between "I disagree" and "she is a wingnut"?

Some here can not, really.

Or how about the massive number of threats to riot if Obama loses, and to kill Romney if he wins that's flooding Twitter:

I'll tell you my wife's view on women is very much like Janis Lane's. She would not extend it to women's equality or voting rights, and probably not to women as superiors, however. As for me, I have had three awesome bosses over the years, and #'s 2 and 3 were women and #1 was a guy. Bad bosses there has been two women and multiple men.

I guess it is a good thing we are bitterly clinging to our weapons.

You have to wonder why you would want to riot against the guys who have all the guns. Seems like a bad plan.

Because the guys that will be rioting have guns, too. The primary difference being that theirs aren't registered and legal.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Per capita I would be willing to bet we are far, far better armed - and ammo'd - than they are.
