What do they use for wireless infrastructure? AT&T and Verizon spent billions building networks with fairly ubiquitous coverage. What are these guys using? |

Well I can vouch for the "screw Sprint" statement. Just got our new blackberries for work, we switched from Verizon to Sprint, and I got no bars in my office. Walk outside, nothing. Useless phone!

Sprint has far and away the best data plans, and the worst coverage. |

I'd use so little data I'd be in the free group, like they predict for 70% of their customers. Nice. ![]() When my Verizon Fios Internet/TV/home landline phone 2-year plan is up I'm going to look into this. Then I'll use a prepaid cellphone, voice-only and cheapo local cable TV. If Sprint signal works at home I'm good. I never use Internet outside my home. Today I'm paying $1680 a year. That will plummet. |

Veizon Fios fiber optic, for $140 a month, is not just ISP. It's a zillion TV channels for Jose (actually only the basic package with no premium channels), a DVR, unlimited long distance home phone, and this Internet connection speed:

I used to spend 40 per month on broadband but now my company picks it up. Same with my 90 cellphone charge. |

We have Verizon, but no bundled package. Our connection speed's about 6 Mps, which is more than enough. We have no TV plan of any kind (and therefore no DVR). And no home phone. I make international calls using Google Voice. Pennies a minute to call Aussie. |

Yeah, like I said when my contract is up I'm leaving Verizon Fios. It's nice but not worth the cost for me. |

Anyway, I'm glad someone is finally doing something to lower the rip off, gouging cost for Internet access. Jose's family (poor folk) considers Internet for rich folks. I suspect in time the big guys will be forced to lower their monthly fees. The day the Nikon came out with 36 MPk D800 camera body the Hasseblad 40 MP camera dropped several thousand dollars, $7000 IIRC. Competition! ![]() |

I use a Cricket 3G hotspot for mobile wifi. Cost me $80, and $40 a month has me more than covered. it's non-contract, pay as you go. |
| The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it. | |
